Dinner For One is an exploration of grief and loss, tension and rebirth. Both the series of photographic images, and the creation of the physical book itself, represent an internal struggle to deal with profound loss.
A process of patience & frustration that cannot be rushed.
Counting to fifty-five, over and over.
Getting lost.
Starting again.
Cutting, ironing, sewing, embroidering, binding.
Pieces of myself, printed on paper, sewn back together.

I created this book because I wanted it to exist.
Because I wanted to create something beautiful, but also imperfect.
Because I wanted to create something with my own hands.
Because I wanted to create time to remember.
Because I never want to forget.

This book was beautifully printed by Momento Pro in Sydney, Australia. The binding and creation of the muslin covers were completed by myself. For the avoidance of any confusion, please note that the book does not have a traditional hard or soft book cover, all pages including the front and back pages are Hahnemühle Photo Rag 220gsm.
